Bryan's Happy 30-Something

If you don't know, October is a seriously-busy birthday month for us! B, Nicholas and Maggie all have birthdays within 13 days of each other. (The cat and mine are in December!) Today we celebrated B's birthday...in Orlando. We drove straight from the game this morning. B had some work to do this morning while we were at the game, so we were exhausted by the time we got here. But an afternoon and night of wings, beer and FoOtBaLl made for a very happy birthday boy....

Do you see something wrong with this picture?? A 9yo soon to be 10yo, playing poker on a Blackberry?? That does count as math for today, right?? ;)

The kids were practically begging for B to share the chocolates that were with his gifts....

And just in case you peeps missed his best gift ever....

(Thank goodness! 'Cause I'm not sure we could have lived with him this week if things had turned out differently!) ha!

Happy birthday, babe. I hope you had the best day ever! We are so blessed by you...

vs North Port

What a morning! Packing to go out of town...and another 9am game! At least today was only in North Port. The field is only 25ish minutes from our house. So, 6:20ish in lieu of 6am! What a difference! ha!

The distraction of the day was an alligator, who did not hesitate to come to the fence! (some one has obviously been feeding him!) :O

Game time!!

Let me first say, this is a county field. Not at a school. But who does the county have working for them?? What are tax dollars going toward??? Ummm....

A BIG error if you ask me. Do you see it?? The 3 is bass-ackwards!! Really, people??

That's my boy.... #25!

And...the moon this morning. Remember?? We are tracking it. :)

Trevor - Take 2

I forget how self-sufficient our kids are sometimes. Until today. I watched Trevor while Jill went to the gym this morning. OH.MY!! The kid is walking running everywhere!! He is the sweetest little thing! I forgot about the lack of cabinet locks until he wanted to Windex the house! ha!

Can I just say my kids were worn out after only 2 hours?? ha! Mag loved every minute of it though...she just didn't understand why he wouldn't sit and take a pretty picture with her?! haha!

Astronomy - Take 6

This week, we went to the Moon. How incredible of a place it is! And what an awesome week to be studying it! Have you seen the moon this week? The full moon was on Sunday - and it has been incredibly bright all week. Good thing because we are tracking it for a month. The maria are quite distinct!

This little one sat through most of class just like this.....

It seems Maggie had applied make-up (A TON OF PINK EYESHADOW) on the way to co-op today. I knew she didn't have it on when we left the house, and I obviously didn't see her after she got out of the car. Well, Mrs. Jenny thought she was *bruised* and said *Maggie, come here - what's wrong with your eye??* (OOPS!) So, she was embarrassed...hence, the sunglasses. ha!

In the younger class, we used Oreos to show the different moon phases.

Some enjoyed it more than others..... ha!

Poor Mag....no wheat for this little one. But I must say she was a good sport through it.

In the older class, the winners of our trivia game won Oreos as their prize! ('cause they think they are too cool to do kiddie stuff!) ;)

Today

This morning before church....

vs Sarasota Bucs

Our morning was NOT the typical! Our game is always played from 11am-1pm. Our arrival time is always 2 hours before game time. The game time was changed for today until 9am!! No big deal, right?? Except we played an hour from home! So, to be in north Sarasota by 7am, we had to be ready to leave by 6am!! (note: BIG ADVANTAGE GIVEN TO OUR OPPONENTS!!) ha!

And may I just add my honey thought the speed limit was 92 on the way there! And a car load of kids were WiReD!!! OH.MY.GOODNESS!! At least everyone was happy when we arrived....

Team prayers....

My hot, sweaty kiddos after the game....

Bayside....

We took advantage of being in Sarasota early on a Saturday afternoon. There is a rockin' farmer's market there on Saturday mornings until noon. After the game, we headed downtown. (one of the few downsides to FoOtBaLl....we miss the good markets on Saturday mornings!) But, we for sure enjoyed it today....

B surprised me with a bag of goodies from here.... :D

B then took us to lunch at Marina Jack's... yummy! :)

We had no plans after our game, and it seems to have turned out to be one of the most relaxing days ever! Maybe we'll have to try it again soon! ;)

This was the scene on the ride home....

Priceless!
